apng2gif software package provides tool for converting APNG images to animated GIF format, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install apng2gif
apng2gif is installed in your system.
Make ensure the apng2gif package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep apng2gif *
You will get with apng2gif package name, version, architecture and description in a table
